Edge computing
Edge computing is an architecture where data process take place at or near the location of data sources. Cloud computing involves sending data to a remote data center for processing. Edge computing reduces the latency by processing it locally, enabling real-time decision-making. In addition, this approach offers increased security and confidentiality. Sensitive information is processed locally without being transmitted to a cloud server, reducing the risk of data violation. Only non-sensitive data without the requirement of immediate analysis is sent to a data center. This reduces the amount of data that needs to be transmitted.
