GitHub

GitHub was first launched in 2008. Being a platform used as a Git hosting repository which owns numerous benefits for development, GitHub provides code storage, version controlling, collaboration, task management, and continuous integration & deployment services. Additionally, it offers light-weighted commands for operating Git flow across the development and production, operation phases.

It was founded by Tom Preston-Werner, Chris Wanstrath, P. J. Hyett and Scott Chacon, and was first launched in 2008. And later acquired by Microsoft for $7.5 billion in stock in 2018. The name of its mascot is "Octocat".
