PostgreSQL
PostgreSQL is an object-relational database management system (ORDBMS). It has its origin in the POSTGRES project of the University of California at Berkeley which started in 1986. It is freely available and usable under the BSD license. It supports most parts of the SQL2003 standard and has a number of custom extensions adding new types of data, functions, operators, indexing methods, or procedural languages.
